The FAB FIVE: Kitchen Storage

I absolutely love storage containers that make a big impact when organizing your kitchen and pantry.  Kitchens can be tough when it comes to corralling all those wonderful tools and gadgets that help us with making favorite dishes.

Here’s a list of my all-time favorite containers I recommend to clients when organizing their kitchen cabinets, drawers, and countertops.

LAZY SUSAN BIN

Lazy Susan Bin

The “magic” triangle

For those hard-to-reach corners, many kitchens have built-in Lazy Susan cabinets.  I happen to have four large ones in the corner near my stove area.  This cabinet design is great in utilizing that hard-to-reach corner space.

But did you know, they designed a triangular-shaped bin for it?

Yep, it’s awesome!

IDesign’s Lazy Susan bin happens to be my go-to favorites bin. These triangular bins come in a variety of colors.  They have different sizes with built-in handles to make them easy to pull out.  These bins are designed to fit eight in a perfect circumference.  But you don't need the entire cabinet to organize the space. In fact, I recommend using 4 bins and space out between other items.

Use them to contain smaller cooking or baking ingredients. They perfectly store oils, sprays, vinegar, and other bottle ingredients upright.  Reach for one container to pull everything out at once.

TURNTABLE

Turntable

Just add essentials

Turntables are genius when it comes to being able to quickly grab something.  Locate them next to the stove to access your most used cooking utensils (stored in a crock), oils, sprays, salt and pepper. Or you can put them inside a narrow cabinet to contain spices and other seasonings.

The ability to grab what you need, make them a great addition to well organized stove countertop or cabinet.

Turntables come in a variety of designs.  Whether you’re looking to add a wooden décor touch, go vertical with a double-decker design, or just utilitarian design with a gripping surface – you can’t go wrong.

DRAWER ORGANIZERS SETS OR DRAWER DIVIDERS

Drawer Organizer Sets

A home for cooking utensils

Stop utensils and tools from getting jumbled in drawers by utilizing drawer organizers sets or drawer dividers.  Sort out your drawers and assign every cooking utensil and gadgets a home.

It will take less time to find what you need - when you need it or put it away.

These handy storage containers and dividers come in a variety of materials and colors making it easy to match your décor.  Bamboo gives you an upper scale, natural look.  White gives a fresh clean feel.  Clear allows you to see exactly what's in the drawer and to allow your contact paper to show through.

STACKING WIRE BASKETS

Stacking Wire Baskets

Easy access to snacks

I love stackable wire baskets!  These baskets are designed to stack on top of each other.  An open front makes it easier to reach inside. They come in a variety of metal finishes and designs to match any kitchen décor.

There are so many versatile storage options.  Keep produce like potatoes, onions, and avocados or tomatoes contained.  Or another option is to use it for snacks.  It gives kids easy access to choose their own afternoon snack.  I have also seen them used to hold cleaning supplies.

Whatever you choose to store inside them, you’ll love their functional design.

Finally you can reach the back

For those of you, that may not have pull out drawers in a cabinet, there is a variety of slide out drawers.  Choose from free standing or permanently install styles.

For those DIYers out there, I hear they are pretty easy to install.  These drawers come in different metal finishes.

Although these drawers can be pricy, over time they are a great investment. Best of all, reaching the back of your cabinet is a snap!

Try out all or some of these smart storage solutions.  They’ll help you organize and transform your kitchen and pantry in no time.
