3 TIPS FOR CREATING AN IMPACTFUL WALL OF ART

1.       MIX IT UP

I like the look of poster prints but wanted to add a personal touch.  To achieve this, I used different mixed media art with poster prints.  Try adding a favorite typography quote, a metal alphabet letter, or think of hanging a mirror with the other pieces.

2.       MAP IT OUT

Map out the placement of your art before putting nails in your walls.  I recommend you lay everything out on the floor next to the wall.  You can visually see what it will look like and edit anything before putting it up.

Another option, that requires an extra step, is to create a paper version of your art using notebook paper.  Simply tape notebook paper together to create the same size art.  Tack them on the wall with blue painters’ tape.  This ensures proper spacing between pieces and gives you a visual before you put nails in the wall.  You can mark right on the paper version and nail through the mark. Then remove the paper and hang your art.  This trick works every time!

3.       BUDGET OPTIONS

If you're trying to save money, consider buying the frames elsewhere.  JoAnn's, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby have weekly sales.  You can purchase frames at a reduced price.  Just make sure the frame size is the same as your poster print.
