FAB Find: Clear Food Storage Containers

Food storage has come along way since I was a kid. Growing up, going to in-home Tupperware parties were really popular.  It was a treat to go with my mom for snacks and see all the new kitchen gadgets. Best of all was getting a sneak peek of the new catalog!

Although Tupperware is still creating innovating food storage containers, there is a lot of other brands that have made their way into retail that have great features and options.

Right now, there is a huge trend in storing ingredients and other foods in clear containers.  Everyone is looking to create organized modern, upscale pantries where everything is beautiful to look at and easily accessible.

All things cooking and baking related are laid out in an orderly fashion from food to small appliances – for easy access that ultimately make meal prep, cooking and baking a snap!

To get that clean, organized modern look, check out these 4 brands!

Felli Flip-Tite

The Felli Flip Tite series is amazing, to say the least. I loved the clean, modern look of these clear square containers.  They have great features.  To lock in freshness, simply flip the ring top.  They are airtight, stackable, dishwasher safe and great for dry goods storage.

What made the difference for me is the lid itself doesn’t take up a lot of room at the top which made a huge difference in my small cabinets. I found using these, I got more containers to fit side-to-side and front-to-back to be able to use the entire height of the cabinet.

Felli Shake n Stor

This is another great storage system from Felli for baking ingredients.  I loved these tops!  Each had a rubber seal lid with two pour sides. One with holes to pour slowly and one for measuring scoop access.

They are perfect for dry ingredients that you bake with like sugars, flours, sprinkles, etc.  The design is square with soft edges, white tops with gray and green accents and feels very fresh and clean.

Sistema Bake It

Sistema Bake It is another a great storage system for bakers!  I was sold when the call out told me I can fit an entire bag of flour in one container! And bonus - it came with a clear scoop!

These containers have easy access lids with two snapping sides - making it easy to remove and pour in full bags of flour or sugar. They come in an array of sizes, colors and are stackable too. They also have a few bake good-to-go containers.

OXO Pops

I was planning to invest in OXO Pops container sets. I love the easy access lids, the look of the containers is stunning but when I took the 3-pc cereal and the 10-pc container set home with me, they ended up being too large to fit into my cabinets.  The design is a little wider than others so I couldn’t fit as many side-by-side or front-to-back in my cabinets.

If you have a separate pantry, you may not run into this problem.  But space was at a premium at my house so I went with The Felli series.

iDesign

One other food storage container, you may want to look into when incorporating clear plastic storage in your kitchen or pantry is a brand called iDesign. They make a wide range of acrylic storage containers for the kitchen, pantry, and refrigerator.

The containers I suggest the most to clients are the ones that fit Lazy Susan cabinets. These triangular shaped containers make it so much easier to utilize this storage cabinet.  They designed these containers to divide this space in 4s & 8s depending on what works for your cabinet needs. They make it easy to keep things organize and reachable in this type of cabinet.

Quick Organizing Tips:

#1 Measure your cabinets & shelves to ensure your new containers fit. When you get the containers home, make sure they fit the way you want them to before getting rid of all the packaging and switching things out.

#2 Know what foods you plan to store. Each container gives storage amounts in liters & ounces.  Make sure there is room left over so you can pour all the contents in.

#3 Keep the cooking directions and tape them to the back.

#4 Label your food.  Try a label maker or buy labels on Amazon or Etsy.  Or check out Pinterest for FREE versions you can print yourself.  There is a wide variety of designs and shapes out there to fit your style.
